DIVI DATE

Brought the kids to Divisoria last Saturday.  It was one heck of an adventure.  Good thing,  the Christmas shoppers were all gone.  Left the house at lunchtime, and after an hour of driving we reached our destination  (traffic wasn't that bad).

We showed the kids the old PNR building, the old Tutuban brick facade, took their picture with Andres Bonifacio.  Told them that during Christmas time, you can get trapped in the great Divisoria chaos and mad race to shop.  Even the streets were filled with tiangge that you can't even walk properly anymore  :-)  But the decision to shop after Christmas was excellent.  No crowd, no rush, no pressure….

The Divi experience was super fun, especially when my kids have these things to say:

"WANTED:  BOY"
Mama, bakit ang daming wanted sa Divisoria?  Shoplifters?

"I WANT A CHEAP-ANGGA'NG IPHONE"
Mama, if everything here in Divisoria is cheap, pati ba Tokyo Tokyo, naka sale din ang food?"  I waaaant cheap-angga'ng iPhone   (no qualms about having fake iPhone, this kid hahaha)

"WALANG PANGLALAKI"

Hmp!  Puro pang babae andito.  Dresses, shoes, accessories.  Wala naman pang lalaki   (until he saw the stores selling basketball shoes and I got his full attention)

"ONE MORE CD"
Mama, I want two CDs for my playstation.  I said, okay now you got your basketball shoes, then we'll buy you new jersey. So no more CDs.   His reply:  Huh?  Who needs a new jersey.  I got plenty of jerseys in my cabinet.  One more CD pls.

It was a hilarious day in Divi.

To chronicle all my kuripot finds, here they are:

two jackets for kids  --  300.00

basketball shoes       --  500.00
dress                       --  450.00
walking shoes           -- 350.00
school bag               --  250.00
total:                           1850   (for 2 kids)

More than the excitement of finding fab budget items, I think I have taught my kids the value of money.  Not to get too excited over branded items.  And that shopping, needs patience, if you are serious to find budget friendly goodies. Above all, we really enjoyed the walking tour of Divi and the fun conversations amidst all the buying.

We will definitely go back to Divi!
